Police Raids Katsîna Criminal Den, Recovers Assault Rifles

Katsina State Police Command has successfully raided criminal hideout at Yar’Gamji Village in Kankara Local Government Area of the state and recovered assault riffles.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu said, “On Thursday, December 21, 2023, in a major raid operation carried out at Yargoje Town, Kankara LGA, by operatives attached to Kankara Divisional Police Headquarters, a criminal hideout in Yar Gamji village was raided, resulting in the neutralisation of notorious criminal gang activities within the area.”

Assistant Superintendent of Police, Sadiq Aliyu explained that, the raid operation, carried out with outmost precision and determination, led to a fierce shootout between the command’s operatives and the hoodlums.

Consequently, ASP Aliyu said the Katsina state Police Command succeeded in recovering “two (2) AK-47 rifles, two (2) locally made guns, and five AK-47 magazines.”

Furthermore, he said  two (2) of the magazines were found to be fully loaded with fifty-nine (59) rounds of 7.62mm calibre live ammunition.

According to ASP, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu the success of the operation has effectively rendered the criminal activities in the area incapacitated, as relentless efforts are underway to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects as the investigation proceeds.
